Industry Champions Project Launched at 20:20 Business Event

The Industry Champions project was launched at the Business Link Kent 20:20 event at the Detling showground on 26 April. The event attracted nearly 5000 visitors from the business community.

Five schools from across the county displayed examples of work-related learning excellence to potential employers interested in working with schools. Five industry 'pre'champions were on hand to help open discussions between schools and employers. The 'pre' champions also signed up potential 'Champions' and took the details of many more interested in taking the project forward for the rest of the year. One notable visitor was Leader of Kent County Council Paul Carter (pictured right) who was very interested in schools and their work with Kent's businesses.

The Industry Champions programme is funded by the Learning and Skills Council and it is managed and facilitated by Kent Works.
